THE CHILD IS TRULY A MIRACULOUS BEING and this should be felt deeply by the educator. ~Maria Montessori

Enrolling for 2018-2019
Chickadee is fully enrolled for the 2017-2018 school year. I do keep a small waitlist “pool” of highly motivated families, in case an unexpected opening occurs. But waiting lists are unsatisfactory for parents, because you need some clarity and you need to make plans. .
As of late January 2018, we already have more than enough applicants for fall 2018. November, December, and January were good months to visit. Tuition for next year is now set and posted here. I will confirm the first round of enrollments by early February. Since children mostly stay for 3-4 years, the full Montessori cycle, and since we have only 16 children, our openings are few. With five kindergartners this year, we anticipate 5-7 open slots for fall 2018.
I like to welcome visitors, but I hate to get people’s hopes up unrealistically. Therefore, I won’t be offering any more tours or visits until after Spring Break. We should know by then whether we are full to the brim, or whether we possibly have another opening or two. It seems unlikely.
I will, however, welcome visitors again in late spring and summer, for those with younger children who want to look ahead for summer and fall 2019.
Chickadee follows the Beaverton School District calendar for the big date points – opening date in September, legal holidays, Winter and Spring Breaks. But we are a year-round program, and set some dates on our own, including Early and Late Summer Breaks, and we are not closed nearly as often as public schools.
